The Indie Bookstores wiki aims to document all independent bookstores - those that are not part of a chain or mass market seller.
The creation of this wiki coincides with the start of Larry Portzline's Why Indie Bookstores Matter Tour, a 10-week, cross-country road-trip that will include stops at 200 independent bookstores and the launch of the National Council on Bookstore Tourism, a non-profit organization that will partner with booksellers, publishers, the travel industry, arts organizations, government agencies and independent business alliances to promote the concept.
