AS MAJOR TELEVISION NETWORKS GEAR UP FOR PREMIERE WEEK,
WIKIA UNVEILS NEW FALL LINE-UP OF TELEVISION WIKIS

New, fully-editable community sites sprout up online around television shows set to debut next week
on major networks such as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and The CW

SAN MATEO, Calif., (PRWEB) September 20, 2007 -- Wikia, Inc. (www.wikia.com), the leading provider of community resources for building and organizing free content on every topic, today announced the launch of its fall line-up of collaborative television-focused wikis, featuring many of the highly anticipated shows set to premiere next week on major networks such as ABC's Pushing Daisies, and NBC's Bionic Woman, Journeyman and Chuck. With existing content on more than 200 popular television shows, Wikia is a valuable resource for fans looking for information on their favorite characters, plotlines, episode guides and more.

Some of Wikia's most popular television related communities include NBC's Scrubs, The Office and Heroes, which have more than 700 articles of content combined. In addition, communities are already forming around three new—yet to premiere—NBC shows: Chuck, Journeyman and a modern re-imagining of the 1970s classic Bionic Woman (http://bionicwoman.wikia.com/wiki/Bionic_Woman).

ABC shows such as Desperate Housewives have also attracted a community of followers, as the Wiksteria Lane site now has more than 100 articles on all the neighborhood gossip. Moreover, wikis about ABC's upcoming shows, such as the Grey's Anatomy spin-off Private Practice and Heroes writer/producer Bryan Fuller's Pushing Daisies, have also been created (http://pushingdaisies.wikia.com/wiki/Pushing_Daisies).

One of Wikia's largest television sites is around FOX's Family Guy, which has more than 1,000 articles, including lyrics and links to download the show's musical numbers. The ever-popular CBS show, Survivor, which premieres tonight at 8pm ET with its 15th season in China, also has a following on Wikia with over 300 articles of content on the shows past 14 seasons, casts and Survivor news. The CW's popular show, Smallville—the story of a young Clark Kent, before he becomes Superman—is also part of the Wikia network of television wikis and currently has over 500 articles of content, including a detailed timeline spanning the entire Superman franchise.
